Weekend coffee #101.
So, I’m very much not in Rome at the moment, as intended, nor am I packing for D.C., which was our second attempt at a few days off. I’m fully aware that this is very much a first-world problem, and though bummed at first, I’m just lucky to have the option. Also, there’s still too much going on to slow down quite yet. I’m hoping that by the week of Dec. 15, everyone starts to realize that nothing else is happening for 2019. The keyword here is hoping. Anyway, some of what I’m thinking about this week:
Gift giving! Here’s my official 2019 guide in case you missed it. If you need more ideas, you might consider my 2018 edition, much of which still holds up.
“Instagram has a way of flattening lived experiences so that my best years look exactly like my bad ones, and that everything seems pretty good, all the time, for everyone.” Amen to that.
9 Things Italian Grandmas Do to Make Feasts Easier. Having inadvertently done more than a few of these for Thanksgiving, I back this list.
Anyone else playing Tiles? I think it appeals to the Mahjong lover in me (and it gives me something to do besides the Crossword).
I, too, love Top Ten Lists and coincidentally, television, so I enjoyed this piece by Emily Nussbaum. Mainly because I haven’t seen most of these and well, winter is coming.
That’s all for now. I'm off to find the ornaments and then fight with Jesse about whether or not the tree is crooked in its stand. Until next time - thanks for following along.
