Weekend coffee #54.

Alright, first full week of the year is done, and it looks like I’m already caving on one of my, let’s say, “intentions.” No working on weekends. Yeah, out the door. I’ll be pounding away at my keyboard for at least a couple hours tomorrow, if not more. Oh well. So while I’m sitting here, tied to my computer, here’s a look at what crossed my desk this week:

• All hail, Lizzo! The song is good, the video is good, and her shine theory reference made me smile. “If I’m shining, everybody gonna shine.” Hell yes. Turning over a new, positive leaf in 2019.

• Our Final Year. I’m sad to hear that Design*Sponge is coming to an end, especially so soon after Rookie’s announcement late last year. Makes you wonder about the future of online publishing.

• I’m looking forward to attending “The Political Power of Women’s Anger: A Conversation with Rebecca Traister and Brittney Cooper” in a few weeks. Let us rage together.

• If you need me, I’ll be hibernating from here until say late April (and I fully blame global warming for any late-onset winter weather). But at least there’s ample opportunity to be cozy.

• Wow, Marie Kondo is officially everywhere. Have you read the book? Watched the show? I gave KonMari a whirl a few years ago and still use some (but definitely not all) of her principles.

• I just received my first box from Splendid Spoon yesterday, figuring if I’m going to quit drinking for a month, maybe I should work on cleaning up my diet, too. I’ll report back.
