I am most excited today. Tonight I'm going to see my current favorite band, Witches. Witches hail from Athens, GA and are fronted by one Cara Beth Satalino, who has a solo career too. I heard of Witches from a friend of mine a few years ago. At the time, he was more than enthusiastic about them, partially because of their music and partially because he had a crush on Cara Beth. When he told me the singer's name the wheels in my head started turning, all the way back to my freshman year of college. Turns out, I met Cara Beth Satalino like 8 years ago when she attended SUNY Purchase with my high school boyfriend. Every time Witches plays locally, I promise myself that I'm going to locate her demo CD from back then and strike up a conversation with her about it. Perhaps today is the day.
Regardless, Witches is playing tonight in a nameless basement in a nearby town and I'm going to enjoy it immensely. I'll end this post with this video from Witches' Pink Couch Session.
