Weekend coffee #184.
After life under pandemic conditions and the general weirdness of 2020, this summer is moving at warp speed. I decided, upon realizing this, that it’s time to slow down and savor as many moments as possible. Weather permitting that means more weeknight swims, more kayaking, more dinners out, more spontaneity. Admittedly, I’ve become a homebody in recent years, and while that was all well and good when I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, I’m forcing myself to implement some limits on home-time. I live there, I sleep there, I work there, I even work out there. There are other things to do and see. So last night I made myself step outside my comfort zone and leave the house hours before a late band practice to spend time somewhere else for a change. It’s a new practice but one I’m hoping to turn back into a habit.
Otherwise, here’s what else is happening:
Before Serums, Women Had Radium. I read Radium Girls a few years ago, curious to see how this stacks up.
Let’s Talk About The Real Reason Ubers Are So Expensive Now. Convenience aside, it’s become … a lot.
Zucchini Butter Spaghetti. Made this with rotini the other night right as a massive line of storms rolled in. Summer comfort food.
Amyl and The Sniffers - Guided By Angels. Already pre-ordered the new album. She’s probably my favorite front person in recent memory.
So I made another internet-influenced purchase last week. Have you tried Magic Spoon?
Currently reading: Not Hamnet. Wasn’t into it.
Currently watching: Jersey Shore Family Vacation. Because that’s more like it.
That’s all for now. #broncoiiridesagain this weekend so I’ve got work to do. Until next time, thanks for following along and be well.
