Weekend coffee #75.
You know that carnival ride, the one that spins you around and around until you hit Zero Gravity? And the feeling that comes over you as the ride slowly starts to end? Yeah, that’s how I feel right now. As if a month long marathon is beginning to wind down and my body is left to recuperate. Really wish I had a hammock right about now. Plus some big floppy hat to put over my face. Anyway, here’s what I’m thinking about this week:
I don’t usually share too much about work in these posts but this week, a client raised (and announced) $45M in funding and appeared in a bunch of publications including VentureBeat and Crunchbase. Felt good to get that coverage.
How cool are these kit houses? Imagine a whole pod of them? Sort of like a modern take on the geodesic dome. If land were cheaper, I might consider investing in one. Alas, this is New Jersey and affordable doesn’t fit our lexicon.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have Italian-American male cousins who lived at home well into adulthood. Still, I’m not sure why there’s shame around it, especially when it’s for economic reasons. Though it does make relationships awkward.
My “to watch” list is lengthy for this time of year, considering all I want to do is go outside. I missed Booksmart when it rolled through town, might catch Rocketman and am definitely going to stay in for this Bob Dylan documentary one night.
Personally enjoy setting tangible goals, like reading X number of books a year. It helped get me back into reading after more than a few years off and while I don’t focus on quantity anymore, I do log what I read, when I finished it and my high level rating.
Haven’t been shopping much lately, but I see Anthropologie is running 20 percent off clothing all weekend. Looks like I might finally have an excuse to use my stockpile of gift cards. This looks comfy.
Until next time - thanks for following along!
