Weekend coffee #78.
Greetings from…Seattle. Haven’t been here in almost a decade and it’s nice to be back. Taking Jesse on a whirlwind tour of the city before catching a cruise ship bound for Alaska. More on that in the coming weeks. Back home, our buddy Matt is watching the dogs and likely changing the locks on our house and moving in. At least I wouldn’t be surprised. In the meantime, here’s what I’m reading to bid the time until we board:
Beyond Meat’s latest plant-based burger is meatier, juicier and a big step closer to beef. Never much of a meat eater, I didn’t really love the original Beyond Burger. Something about the smell. Tried the new ones before we left though and definitely a vast improvement.
The 10 Worst People You Will Meet at the Jersey Shore, Ranked. I have a few others I would add to this list…the smokers (illegal), the lifeguard distractors (sit down and let them work), the sloppy drunks (it’s 10 a.m. people) and the litterbugs (seriously, just don’t).
Um, yeah. About these comments from Adam Mosseri at Instagram. I’m calling bullshit. Don’t get me wrong, I use Instagram daily, but it is, like all other apps, collecting data about its users. This is surveillance capitalism in action, folks.
Holy moly, that’s a lot of lost recordings. Honestly, I didn’t even remember this fire happening until I saw the article pop up. I can’t even fathom what 500,000 songs looks like recorded. What’s even crazier is how long it took for this to come to light - 11 years? Really?
If only this house were closer to the beach…and well, civilization. My in-laws live up that way and it is (especially by NJ standards) rural. Bear country sort of out there. Not sure I could handle being that far away from the ocean. #spoiled
But since I’m not moving anywhere at the moment, I’m actively dreaming up ways to make my backyard look a whole lot more like this dreamy space. The patio part is supposedly happening this summer with a hot tub to follow (I hope).
Time to start exploring. Until next time - thanks for following along.
