Weekend coffee #64.
To be totally honest, I never really gave spring much thought until recently. Could be because the weather is so unpredictable on the East Coast and sometimes we’re still wearing jackets in early June, other years we’re on the beach. But I made a bold move last week and took my winter coat to the dry cleaners BEFORE St. Patrick’s Day. What’s more, I’m writing this in a t-shirt even though the heat is still on and today’s high is only 48 degrees. Downright rebellious I tell you. Weather aside, lots of energy this week, lots of forward movement and lots of really great reading. Here’s that:
AACK! (Or in this case, ouf!). Have you read Rachel Syme’s profile of “Cathy” creator Cathy Guisewite? An interesting look at an iconic cartoon and the person behind the content.
How ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Became a Generation’s Coping Mechanism. Did I ever mention that I concentrated my journalism degree in media studies? Well, I did.
More pop culture, this time an ode to my favorite man on television, Alex Trebek. I suck at tests and will probably never qualify for the show, but I will always continue to watch.
Hm, wheat berry salad with tofu and pickled peppers. Something about this recipe intrigues me, even though I’m not sure I’ve ever tried wheat berries.
I take back what I said about those coveralls a few weeks ago; I’m now firmly fixated on this jumper. My love of utilitarian fashion knows no bounds.
Until next week - thanks for following along.
