Weekend coffee #12.
This weekend brings a family reunion with a bunch of cousins I've never met, Saturday matinee of "Beautiful" on Broadway, visits with new babies and (fingers crossed) no more snow. Though this week's snow day did allow for lots of reading, here's some of what I found:
- My mom talked to USA Today about airline frustrations. I can't even being to tell you how many airline miles and hotel points my parents have between them. Safe to say this is one topic she can speak to with authority.
- Speaking of travel, joggers and track trousers are something I can totally get behind. I've unknowingly started to adopt this over the years but here I am putting a solid stake in the ground. Comfy clothes for life.
- This story about the discovery of more than 30,000 negatives in a Russian artist's attic reminded me of Vivian Maier. If you haven't seen her work or the documentary about its discovery, I highly recommend it.
- Excited to hear that street style photographer, Bill Cunningham, wrote a secret memoir before he died. He was such an interesting and intriguing character (here's that documentary to check out).
- Girls' Night In is one of my favorite newsletters - awesome to read how it went from pet project to full-time job.
- And finally, this made me chuckle. I didn't think anyone would care that I kept my last name after getting married, and yet people are constantly surprised by this decision. Go figure.
