Weekend coffee #49.
December always seems to move too quickly. The decorations are up, the tree trimmed, gifts purchased and yet, still no time to breathe. The to-do list keeps growing longer and my social calendar continues to fill. I’m not complaining, just amazed. One last push before the year ends, I suppose. In between all the deadlines and demands, I’m trying to take some time to enjoy what’s left of 2018. Mostly that means I’m spending whatever free time I have in cozy clothes, watching season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with intent. Somewhere in the midst of all that, here’s what I’m thinking about this week:
Adopted vs. biological choices - The logical question after your wedding seems to be “When are you getting pregnant?” This frustrates me. I welcome all paths and enjoy seeing this family’s journey unfold.
Hannah Gadsby is another story I’m following (watch Nanette if you haven’t already). I found her perspective on the “good men” narrative bright and insightful, at a time when there’s this clamor for validation.
Here. For. This. The Millennial trope grew tired like five years ago, and yet the berating continues. I sometimes wonder if we’re still going to talk about the decline in napkins and canned tuna sales when I’m sixty-something.
Long live Tumblr (in its original format, pre-major communications company acquisition circa 2013). I haven’t been an active user for awhile though at one time it provided endless hours of amusement.
Also, this is adorable. Especially since Charli XCX was like 7 in 1999? No hate, I thoroughly enjoyed that year and would gladly go back. If only for my lack of responsibility, general naiveté, rockin’ bod and ridiculous clothing collection.
Picked up a dress from Anthropologie with my birthday discount for a wedding later. It looks like it might have sold out online because I can’t find it on the website. Have to say, I’m into the cold weather wedding. I can layer up without fear of sweating anywhere besides the dance floor. Into it. Until next time!
